Introduction to Investing
This course is designed to give students an understanding of the basics of investing in the stock market. It will examine the fundamentals of stocks and bonds, the various trading exchanges, sources of financial information and economic data releases. We will discuss who and what makes markets move and how to value individual stocks. We will touch on technical vs. fundamental analysis, risk parameters and defining trends. In order to give some “real life” experience to the course, we will include a mock investing contest as part of the curriculum. All of the above - and more - will be presented in a user-friendly manner designed to open the student's mind to the value of smart investing and wealth creation.
