Mission Statement:

The Beekman School’s mission is to provide a differentiated curriculum that unites flexibility and compassion in a safe but challenging environment.  Our supportive educators maintain a mutually respectful, multi-cultural setting that is committed to the dignity and worth of all students as they are guided into becoming responsible citizens, independent thinkers and conscientious contributors to society.  Our community of scholars celebrates the individual and cultivates a lifelong love of learning.

Beliefs:

We believe that parents/guardians are vital partners in the educational and emotional development of their children and that each individual should foster and maintain an atmosphere of mutual respect and camaraderie within the school community.

We believe all teachers regardless of the subject matter they teach should coach students in developing a strong work ethic including responsibility, organization and good communication skills.

We believe that our small class size capped at 10 promotes individual growth within a collaborative learning environment encouraging scholarship, creativity, participation and self-confidence while honoring individual learning styles.

We believe that flexibility in scheduling, credit accumulation and accommodations of outside enrichment opportunities and commitments fosters students’ highest achievement.

We believe that all students should receive a comprehensive education that is both challenging and stimulating that prepares them for all forms of higher education.

We believe the unique engagement among our multicultural student population, staff and neighborhood inspires the development of sophisticated global citizens.
